The photography creative session in Stockport, Cheshire

A couple of months ago, I met Kay and Jazz in a picturesque location situated in between Marple and Disley.
Arriving to her yard I could see the magnificent views surrounding the area. It gave me a lot of inspiration for her session and I wanted to make use of the beautiful landscape as the background !

Kay is the proud owner of Jazz, a 8 years old Welsh Section D. Jay enjoys hacking with her mare and some schooling work in the arena. She obviously has a good relationship with her mare and is attentive to her needs.

During the initial meeting, we discuss her preferences regarding her photography session and I plan with her how the session will unfold. We decide to start with images of both of them in a field.
I always prefer to find a safe place to begin with, it gives me the time to assess the horse’s character and see how we can work together. Safety for both the owner and horse is very important to me and I would never push my clients to do something that would be too risky.

Jazz is a little nervous at first but we take our time to get her to settle.

The session unfolds

We work our through all the different type of images that Kay was interested in. A mix of in hand images with portraits of her and Jazz together. We move to a few different locations, in the field, on the road leading to the yard and in the arena. We continue with some images of Kay ridding Jazz and to finish we bring back Jazz in her field of a few action (at liberty) type of shots. At some point we move under cover as the rain threatened to spoil the photoshoot..but we are lucky, it only lasts a few minutes.[/vc_column_text][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” interval=”3″ images=”5691,5692,5694,5695,5686,5689″ onclick=”link_image” custom_links_target=”_self” img_size=”thumbnail”][vc_column_text]

The ordering session

A few days after the session, I meet Kay again so she can view her images and decide which ones she would like to keep. After her slideshow, we go through the elimination process but Kay only managed to eliminate three/four images…I go through my samples as lot of clients like to have a mix of different products (mainly large frames, luxury box of mounted prints and digital images).

Kay ‘s decision is to invest in acquiring all her digital files from the session…another happy customer !
