Tatton Park Family Photography Session

[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”5143″ border_color=”grey” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]I was meeting Joanna, Paul, their two children and Lily (Golden Retriever) in Tatton Park for a family/dog photo shoot. Working with young children and a dog is always more challenging as we need everybody to be happy in front of the camera and at the same time !

I try to take candid moments so that the children are still playing and not getting to bored by the photography session. When possible I will do  a few posed images but the dog and the children need to cooperate to be able to have the perfect image.

We also play little games with the children to keep them entertained and happy. Sometimes it take more time then other before everything comes together to create the perfect image. I am patient with both children and animal….there is no point pushing them and ending up with stressed kids (crying) or stressed pets.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”5148″ border_color=”grey” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]

Lily (the dog) was obviously used to be around the children and quite enjoyed playing with them. She is 6 year old and well trained hence was well behave most of the session. She just tends to not stay at the same place for a long time so we had to be fast for the posed pictures.

Action Shots

I reserve the end of my photography session for the action shots. There are multiple reasons to do it at the end of the session:

  • The dog can get muddy so we keep the portrait at the start (clean dog).
  • After a while , it becomes difficult to keep everybody attention, so better to have fun with the action shots.
  • We can use any time left to the session to work on the action shots.
